Disable Ads on YouTube With This Simple Command

Disable Ads on YouTube With This Simple Command

Disable Ads on YouTube With This Simple Command
There are a lot of ways to block ads, but with a simple command in the developer console, you can disable all ads on YouTube via an experiment.P
Google frequently tries out new features with experiments via TestTube. A less advertised experiment can disable all ads on the site. Here's how to turn it on:P
  1. Open up a YouTube video (any will do).
  2. Open up the developer console (Ctrl-Shift-J for Chrome, Ctrl-Shift-K for Firefox)
  3. Enter the following code:
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=oKckVSqvaGw; path=/; domain=.youtube.com";window.location.reload();P
Boom. No more ads. Since this is something that Google is allowing, it's possible it could go away in the future, but while it works, you get a lovely ad-free viewing experience without any plugins. It even works on those pesky video ads.P

How To Share LAN/Wired Internet Via WiFi Without Wi-Fi Router

How To Share LAN/Wired Internet Via WiFi Without Wi-Fi Router

We lives in modern world and still many of us don’t have Wi-Fi modem in our house. The reason is Wi-Fi modem/router expensive than the normal LAN and USB modem. But we do have Wi-Fi feature in our mobile phones. Many times our phones app or games requires big data to be download via 3g or Wi-Fi. 3G is still an expensive connection for average income family users and without a Wi-Fi router we can’t actually create a Wi-Fi ad-hoc network.  We may have internet in our house but we don’t have Wi-Fi router. That time we feel upset.  Sometimes at mall, school, collage or offices we gets Wi-Fi networks and we use them. That time we recognize importance of Wi-Fi to download things faster without subscribing for an internet or 3g plan for a mobile separately.
wifi without router
Technology changes within a day. You buy something and the nextday you get better stuff for cheaper price. Same way there is a small and cheap Wi-Fi adapter for your pc to create Wi-Fi ad hoc without a Wi-Fi router or modem. If you’re not able to buy wireless modem than you should go for Wi-Fi adapter and create a Wi-Fi hotspot in your house. There are many mini USB Wi-Fi adapters available on onlinestores like amazon, naaptol etc. but you might get cheaper if you buy from local pc market. I had seen a cheapest wifi adapter on ebay is 4$. You can find the best one for you and set up your home wireless network.

Requirements:
  • Internet connection
  • USB WiFi adapter

How to Share Data Card Internet Connection Between PC and Android Phone

How to Share Data Card Internet Connection Between PC and Android Phone

Sharing of internet connection between computers or between a computer and a smartphone (with WiFi capability) using Wifi Ad-Hoc Networking is popular. But this form of networking is not supported by Android devices. There are ways to make Ad-Hoc networks to work with android devices by configuring files on the device but I am not going to go to that.
Instead there are methods using a software based virtual access point like Windows Seven’s Wireless Hosted Network technology, Virtual Router Manager and Connectify. Windows Seven’s Wireless Hosted Network only runs on windows seven and hardware specific. Virtual Router Manager didn’t work for me. Therefore, I used connectify (newer 2.2 version didn’t work, I used an older version 1.2) and successfully shared my data card connection between my laptop (Dell Latitude E5500 with Windows 7) and my android device (Samsung Galaxy Ace).
Listed below with screenshots are the steps to follow:
On your computer (Laptop/Desktop):
1. Download Connectify 1.2 and install it. Once complete, you can access Connectify from the icon in the Taskbar
connectuify
Click for higher resolution picture
2. Fill in the settings panel with your prefered WiFi name, password and internet connection to share. For Internet connection, there are options listed as No Internet Sharing, Mobile Broadband Connection, Local Area Connection and Wireless Network Connection. Since I have a data card, I selected Mobile Broadband Connection for Internet
Connectify
3. Click on “Start Hotspot” to start sharing
4. On your Wireless Connection Status, click Details to get the network connection information, note the IPV4 Address
Network Connection InformationOn your Android device:
5. Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi Settings
6. Open Advance settings menu
7. Select the Use static IP option
8. Enter your desired IP address (For example: 192.168.2.2)  into Ip Address field
9. Enter your IPV4 Address (For example: 192.168.2.1) into Gateway field
10. Enter 255.255.255.0 into Netmask field
11. Enter your internet connection’s DNS server (use ipconfig /all command to get DNS info) intoDNS 1 and DNS 2. As an alternative, you can alternatively use Google Public DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Advanced Settings12. Connect to Wi-Fi using your password
13. Disconnect and Reconnect Wi-Fi (or Restart your Android device), if  it doesn’t connect.
Wi-Fi Settings
14. Check your internet connection on your Android device using a browser
15. When you go back to the Windows 7 machine you can see the device(s) connected. It also keeps track of devices that were previously connected as well.
Connectify does the job of creating a hotspot easily and quickly.

Copy FLV file from Firefox cache

Copy FLV file from Firefox cache

After watching a video from Youtube, you may want to save the video file into your local for future offline playing. To download them, you can use many available softwares / add-ons from the net. The thing is, the software will reinitiate the download procedure and you need to wait again for it to complete. If you are using Firefox, you could by pass this by copy the FLV directly from Firefox cache. Firefox cache located at;

C:\Documents and Settings\YourLogin\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cdvfbg12.default\Cache

Or

%AppData%\..\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cdvfbg12.default\Cache

The method is to open explorer and go to cache folder like mentioned above. Note that ‘YourLogin’ is your windows local login name and ‘cdvfbg12’ is randomized folder name. It may not be the same like your PC. Look, nothing much here.

Now watch full Youtube video in Firefox browser. Do not close your browser yet after that. Back to the cache folder, refresh it using F5 key and now you can see some new large file created in the folder. Sort by date modified for better visibility.

Copy it somewhere and rename it to *.flv . Now you may play the FLV using a favorite player.

Removing and disabling the thumb.db file in Windows

Removing and disabling the thumb.db file in Windows

When displaying files as thumbnails in explorer, a file called thumbs.db will be created automatically by Windows. It help user to view folders and pictures in the thumbnail view much faster since it stores the images. Although the file is small, it may take up a large amount of space soon. It is safe to delete this file but if you would like to stop Windows from creating them again, you can disable it by doing;

Folder Options Window

From explorer toolbar, Tools > Folder Options, go to the View tab, tick Do not cache thumbnails.

Windows XP Hidden User Accounts Interface (control userpasswords2)

Windows XP Hidden User Accounts Interface (control userpasswords2)

Having more than one person using your computer? If you do, you can create user accounts for everyone so that they can customize their favorites, colors, wallpaper, and private files. Default ‘Windows XP User Accounts’.

Sometimes you might need to fine tune the user accounts. You can do this with a hidden ‘User Account 2’ interface by running control userpasswords2.

This ‘Windows 2000’ style ‘User Accounts’ might be useful for those users that are very familiar with Windows 2000.

So, now you might want to add this shortcut permanently to the ‘Control Panel’. The only way is to add some lines into the 'Windows Registry'.

It is recommended to use *.reg script below to add ‘User Accounts 2’ shortcut to your control panel rather than entering it manually. Copy lines below to a new file and called add_ua2.reg. Note that the extension must be reg. Just right click the file and Merge it. Your computer must be restarted for these to take effect.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{18646F66-8C25-0000-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}]

"Default"="Add Userpasswords2 to Control Panel"

Just incase you don’t like it, you can also remove it using *.reg file below. Copy lines below to a new file and called delete_ua2.reg. Note that the extension must be reg. Just right click the file and Merge it. Your computer must be restarted for these to take effect.

Copy FLV file from Google Chrome cache

Copy FLV file from Google Chrome cache

To copy FLV from Google cache, the method is similar to copy FLV from Firefox cache. The cache location is at;

C:\DocumentsandSettings\YourLogin\LocalSettings\ApplicationData\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
Or
%AppData%\..\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache

The method is quite similar, open explorer and go to cache folder like mentioned above.

Now watch full Youtube video in Google Chrome browser. Do not close your browser yet after that. Back to the cache folder, refresh it using F5 key and now you can see some new large file created in the folder. Sort by date modified for better visibility.

Copy it somewhere and rename it to *.flv . Now you may play the FLV using a favorite player.

Removing large gap from WinXP "Add or Remove Programs

Removing large gap from WinXP "Add or Remove Programs"

I’ve been living with this annoying large gap in my "Add or Remove Programs" for quite sometime and tonight I’m wondering how to remove it although it hasn't caused any problems. After some googling around, finally I came across to a solution from experts-exchange.com. From my experience, it happen when I installed AutoCAD 2002 couple years back but didn't realize until tonight. Below are the instructions on how to fix it.

Open your regedit from START >> run... menu.

Now go to;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{5783F2D7-0101-0409-0000-0060B0CE6BBA}

Now you can see that the "DisplayIcon" entry is having ",-1" value. That is causing the problem. Negative numbers will cause the gap. Edit it by removing the ",-1".

Before
C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\acad.exe,-1

After
C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\acad.exe

And now, the moment of truth, open you "Add or Remove Programs"

How to use a DSL Modem with Wifi as an Access Point without DSL

How to use a DSL Modem with Wifi as an Access Point without DSL

My current home network configuration is using ISP supplied ADSL modem that comes without wireless. It connect to a cheap unmanaged switch through a crossover cable and distribute it to 2 PCs.

I also have a broken ADSL modem (Riger DB108-WL) that comes with wireless capability. The only thing is, the ADSL circuit is broken. So this is where this idea comes out. How to use the spare wireless circuit with my current network configuration. I thought it will be complicated but when I give a try, it was not that hard. Just a couple of simple steps will do.

The main idea are to;
  • give the wireless device a fix IP
  • turn it DHCP server off
  • hook it up to the existing switch using crossover cable
  • set the gateway IP pointing to the current ADSL modem.
I assume you already know how to browse the wireless device web management page. Riger DB108-WL default user:pass is tmadmin:tmadmin

Part 1, to make it easy, just reset the wireless device to factory default through the pinhole. Then hook it directly to your PC using standard network cable. Set its IP for example, my current ADSL modem is set to 192.168.100.1. So the wireless device IP should be set to the same network segment, let say 192.168.100.50. Next, turn of its DHCP server since we want to let the current ADSL modem to control the host distribution. Now save and reboot the wireless device.

Part 2, Now the IP of the wireless device has changed. Disconnect it from your PC and hook it to the switch with crossover cable. Hook your PC back to the switch. Now turn on your wireless device and browse to its web management page. Set the gateway so that it point to the current ADSL modem (in my case, 192.168.100.1).

Now the wireless device is converted to wireless access point and ready to accept wireless connection.

The best part of using this configuration is, you can turn off wireless independently without need to browse the web management page. Just turn the wireless device power off.

What is NTLDR?

What is NTLDR?

NTLDR is the boot loader for Windows NT operating systems including
Windows XP.It runs from primary hard drive to load the OS selected from
the startup menu with the help of boot sector in a file.

Components important to load OS:
NTLDR: contains boot loader
boot.ini : system file which stores list of Operating Systems
to be shown at start up .
ntdetect.com: detects basic hardware required to start the operating system.
ntoskrnl.exe/ntkrnlpa.exe : stores kernal image of Windows NT systems &
responsible for various system services such as hardware virtualisation process and memory management, etc.

Here’s how u can get back into your Windows XP.
1. Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
2. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
3. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the “R” key to repair Windows.
4. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the “1″ key and pressing enter.
5. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password(Usually it is
password,if not set)
6. Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk.
The CD-ROM drive letter may be different on your computer.
Here it is “e.”

copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

7. Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

Working of NTLDR.
When booting NTLDR follows these steps in order:

1. Accesses the file system on the boot drive (either FAT or NT File System, NTFS).
2. If hiberfil.sys is found, and it finds a hibernation image, its contents are loaded into memory and the system resumes where it left off.
3. Otherwise, reads boot.ini and prompts the user with the boot menu accordingly.
4. If a non NT-based OS is selected, then NTLDR loads the associated file listed in boot.ini and gives it control.
5. If an NT-based OS is selected, then NTLDR runs ntdetect.com, which detects the computer’s hardware to load the OS.
6. Starts Ntoskrnl.exe
